Isaiah said some startling things in his prophecy about the blessings of God. Specifically he said some startling things about the blessings of wealth, profit and prosperity.
16 Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. (KJV)
The message the Lord sent Isaiah to say concerned prosperity and wealth for the Abrahamic Seed Group. Remember we Gentile Christians are grafted into this group so the things said here pertain to us also.
He declared outright that God teaches us to profit. Now if God teaches us to profit, are we profiting? If not, is His teaching flawed? Is it wrong? Of course not.
Then why do we not profit?
Next, look at how He teaches us to profit. He leads us by the way that we should go. In other words, there are some places down the road of life that contain opportunities for profit.
So then, why are we not profiting? Could it be that we don't recognize his leading signals to go this way and not that way when this way is profitable and that way is not? If we just recognized His signals (leading) we would take the right turn and we would profit.
We need to learn to listen to the Lord. He is leading us right now to profit.
18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea: (KJV)
There is no turmoil like financial turmoil. When the financial storms are blowing full force, there is no peace in any area of our lives. But notice the verse above. Had we but listened and hearkened to the voice of God when He was pointing out the way of profit, how different our financial state might be.
21 And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out.
22 There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked. (KJV)
God profits us even in hard times and places
Isaiah points out that when we are following His leading, He even provides profitably for us in the hard times. Their desert journey was definitely a hard time. But notice the blessings provided there:
1. They did not get thirsty
2. He caused the waters to flow out of a rock for them
3. He even clave the rock so the waters actually gushed out
Notice also the plight of the wicked. They are those who do things their way. Somewhere the profits they get illegitimately fail them and they have no peace.
Learn there is a way where profitable opportunities lie. God leads us there daily. There is profit and peace there.
