Prosperity: According to Thy Word

Mary, Jesus' mother-to-be, hit it right on the head of the nail!

Luke 1:38 KJV

38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

And Jesus' birth followed exactly as the angel had declared it to her. Now we, too, can use her words to get our own needs met. We can find a Scripture Promise and claim it like Mary did by using her same words, "Be it unto me according to thy word."

The following is an extreme case for many people, but my dear wife Corky and I started out with this one. And we got it just like Mary got her baby, all according to His word.

Mark 10:29-30 KJV

29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,

30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

Our 100 Fold Return Promise

When Corky and I went off to preaching school when we were very young, we had to leave behind everything (house, family, all) and go to school. Three years later, we returned to the same church we had left as members and they called me to be their pastor.

The parsonage they had for their pastor had the same floor plan and was in the same sub-division as the home we left to go to school. Furthermore, it had one more bedroom than we had in our original house.

In addition to this, we loved this church as members. I was saved there and I surrendered to preach there and I got baptized there. This church was dear to our hearts. Now I was called to pastor the same church we both loved so well. We were both on our way to our hundred fold return promise, now in this time.

I'm not implying that you must leave everything like the verses above says. Only God can lead you to do this as he did us. But he has many more Scripture Promises pertaining to prosperity. See below.

2 Corinthians 9:8 KJV

8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

The above verse actually says that God will make you rich.

Here is a short list of different translations of this same verse. See how they quoted it.

(Bible in Basic English- 1965) And God is able to give you all grace in full measure; so that ever having enough of all things, you may be full of every good work:

(Bishops Bible 1568) God is able to make you riche in all grace, that ye in all thynges hauyng sufficient vnto the vtmost, may be riche vnto all maner of good workes,

(Contemporary English Version) God can bless you with everything you need, and you will always have more than enough to do all kinds of good things for others.

(Good News Bible) And God is able to give you more than you need, so that you will always have all you need for yourselves and more than enough for every good cause.

(God's Word) Besides, God will give you his constantly overflowing kindness. Then, when you always have everything you need, you can do more and more good things.

(International Standard Version) Besides, God is able to make every blessing of yours overflow for you, so that in every situation you will always have all you need for any good work.

How then do we make this rich, forever, having enough, work for us? We must do it God's way.

God's way requires us to sow bountifully and then reap bountifully.

2 Corinthians 9:6-7 KJV

6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

The Three Keys to this passage

1. Sow bountifully

2. Reap bountifully

3. Purpose in our heart

But purpose in our heart what? We must purpose what size harvest we need from our sowing. Then we must sow enough seed to cover enough ground to produce the size harvest we need. In other words, we can't sow an acre of ground and expect a five hundred acre harvest.

Purpose the size of harvest you need and sow accordingly. Now we find that Isaiah said practically the same thing as Mary. See below.

Isaiah 55:10-11 KJV

10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

As the rain and snow "returneth not thither," neither shall his word return unto Him void. "It shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

Now here's what you do!

Confess 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 many, many times each day like this:

"Heavenly Father, I have sown bountifully. Now I must reap bountifully. This is your word. This is your promise. Be it unto me according to your word. Your word shall not go back to you void. Your word shall accomplish that which pleases you. (Psalms 35:27 declares that you are pleasured with my prosperity.) Your word shall prosper in the thing whereto you sent it. You sent it to make me wealthy. Be it unto me according to thy word.

In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Amen."
